What would you call the body style of my Fiat 126p? It’s not a hatchback, it’s not an estate, and it’s definitely not a saloon. Is it a fastback? A coupe? Is it something else entirely? Is it an abomination in the eyes of automotive gods?

Fastback depending on how the rear opens up, coupe, otherwise.

I’d say it’s technically a Kammback.

The rear’s hinged on the bottom. Also, I’d say not a coupe, because a coupe should be a 3 box design (ooooh, controversial).

I would claim it was a coupe, personally :)

a square sided Volkswagen Beetle...

3 box design, lol controversial indeed.

You know what you call this 127?
You call the 126 the same.
Note the Mk1 Granada too.

A wheel chock?
Kidding. If it were me, I would find out what would offend most car people...and call it that. So its definitely a shooting brake.

I like this idea, so I’m stealing it. My Fiat is now officially a berlinetta.

This will please Party VI

I’d call it Jeff.

Sex on 4 wheels. Doggy style?
![]() 05/14/2016 at 18:13 |

Berlinetta literally means “little saloon,” so you aren’t wrong.

Also, have you met my Tallback Sports Activity Coupé

“ Berlinetta (from Italian : berlinetta ; Italian pronunciation: [berlinetta] ) is an especially sporty form of coupé .” - quote from Wikipedia
My Fiat is literally the sportiest car ever with its tall and narrow body and raging 24 hp. :D

And you’d be wrong! :D
![]() 05/14/2016 at 18:18 |

It’s a rear engine 2 door sedan/saloon, just like a Beetle. Or you can call it a coupe like a Porsche 911.
![]() 05/14/2016 at 18:19 |

The arse-end lid is hinged differently though. Doesn’t that make a difference?
![]() 05/14/2016 at 18:20 |

You’re a square sided beetle!
![]() 05/14/2016 at 18:25 |

Translated from Italian, it’s literally “little saloon,” but I guess the fact that it’s rear-engined, manual, and RWD makes it especially sporty.
![]() 05/14/2016 at 18:26 |
|
It’s a 2 door fastback sedan.

The Suzuki Cervo/Whizzkid is the same way but it’s a hatchback because it has a rear window that opens.
You could call it a pick up if you want though.

YOUR FACE IS WRONG. :D

Deathtrap? :)
![]() 05/14/2016 at 18:49 |

That’s more of a side effect than body style though. :P
![]() 05/14/2016 at 18:54 |

I'd say it's definitely blue.
![]() 05/14/2016 at 19:02 |

It’s very small and very slow. Maybe it fits into a category that I’d like to call a city car.
![]() 05/14/2016 at 19:06 |

City car’s not a body style.
![]() 05/14/2016 at 19:06 |

It almost seems like its closest to a shooting brake.
![]() 05/14/2016 at 19:07 |
|
Pfffft, that’s 445 Blu Tirreno to you!
![]() 05/14/2016 at 19:30 |

A shooting brake is a 2 door estate though.
![]() 05/14/2016 at 20:31 |

It’s like a car, but smaller.
![]() 05/14/2016 at 20:48 |

The Beetle was also 2-door, 4-seat and rear-engined and it was classed as a sedan, so I'll go with that.

I guess I would consider it a two-door coupe, even though it *looks* like it ought to be a hatchback.
